Evony Age 2 Tips and Tricks

Evony Age 2 is a large online strategy game where you can join alliances, build cities, and crush other players. A lot of people don't know how to play so here are some tips and tricks for Evony Age 2.

When you first start, you get to name your city and your character. That part is up to you. You have cottages, barracks, marketplace, warehouse, workshop, Inn, Feasting hall, beacon tower, embassy, rally spot, academy, forge, stable, twon hall, walls and relief station. To start off you need a cottage, that a way you can have a workforce and soldiers. The more people you have the more money you can get. I usually set my tax rate to 13% but you do not need to set it above 20%. The higher your tax rate the lower your loyalty. If your tax rate is high then you will have less people. If it is low you will have more people but less money.

Next is outside the town, your city. You have farms, quarries, lumber mills, and iron mines. Farm produces food, quarries produce stone, lumber mills produce wood, and iron mines produce iron. Each requires a certain amount of workforce each level. The food you produce feeds your troops. Each resource is needed but on a scale of 1-4, one being the most important, Food would be 1.Lumber 2. Iron 3. Stone 4. Stone is needed the most when you upgrade your walls.

Ok, so you know about cottages, and your city. Now it is time for your Inn and feasting Hall. An Inn is where you can get your heroes and a feasting hall is where you place them. If you have a level 3 Feasting Hall then you can have 3 heroes. I suggest you have a hero high in attack, one high in politics, and one high in intelligence. The hero high in politics needs to be your mayor so you can produce more. The inteligence hero is used to get medals when you spam attack valleys. If you are hunting for Rose, Cross, or Lion medals, i suggest you attack a level 2 swamp, with 100 archers an attack, and 30-45 seconds between each attack. Be sure to recall your army as soon as you conquer the valley. The attack hero needs to be used when you are attack another player.

Next i suggest you build barracks and a rally spot. The higher your rally spot the more troops and attacks you can do at a time. Barracks is where you build your troops. Workers, warriors, scouts, pikemen, archers, calvary, ballista, catapaults, and transports. I suggest you have 12-15 barracks a city.

A beacon tower alerts you when a player is attacking you. The higher the level of the tower, the more detailed information you get.

A workshop is where you can build better armor and weapons, and other things for your heroes. You also need a certain leveled workshop to upgrade and research.

A forge is needed at first for some upgrades and reasearch.

An academy is important. You need it to research. You can research agriculture to produce more food, informatics to produce scouts and get more detailed information when you scout a city. There are more things to research and each serves a purpose.

A warehouse is where you store some of your resources to save when your town is plundered.

A marketplace is where you sell your resources to other players. You can make some money this way.

A stable needs to be built so you can produce calvary. The higher its level, the quicker you can produce calvary.

A relief station makes it quicker when you deliver resources or troops to your city or a member of your alliance's city. You will learn about alliances later on.

An embassy is needed to join an alliance and the higher its level the more people can reinforce your city. If you have a level 8 embassy then eight members can reinfoce your city.

A town hall is very important. You need this to have more building spots in your city, so you can build more farms, lumber mills, quarries, and iron mines.

You wall is very important. You can place outer defenses such as traps and archer towers. You need to have atleast 11,000 archer towers for decent protection.

Since we have went through all the buildings, i am going to tell you about valleys and NPC's. Valleys are deserts, swamps, lakes, hills, and forests. If you own a desert you get more stone, a forest gives you more lumber, a hill gives you more iron, and a lake and swamp give you more food. I suggest you hold a lake for more food, and spam attack swamps for medals. Medals are needed for promotions. You can find how many medals you need to be promoted in your quest.

NPC's are barbarian cities that you can either conquer or plunder. Plundering gets you more resources. I suggest you attack with Ballistas and transports to carry more resources. You can get medals some times when attacking barbarian cities. The highest level barbarian city you need to plunder is a level 5 because a level 6 and higher have falling rocks that can destroy your ballistas. The higher your archery level the less Ballistas you will need to avoid losses. For example, if you are attacking a level 5 NPC's and have level 6 archery, you need 900 ballistas to avoid losses.

To conquer an NPC you need to force its loyalty to drop to 0. By doing that it will become one of your cities. I suggest when you get powerful enough you take conquer a level 8 to get your king or queen. The you need to take a level 10!

Alliances: An alliance is a group of players protecting each other. An alliance can have up to 100 members. There is a host, two Vice Hosts, 5 presybters, and 7 officers. You can add other alliances to your friends list, neutral list, or you can declare war on them. An alliance needs to have its members in a certain state. There is Moravia, Lower/Upper Lorraine, Saxony, Lombardy, Bohemia, Burgandy, Franconia, Friesland, North March, Thuringia, Swabia, Bavaria, Carintha, Tuscuny, and Romagna. The more members you have in a state the better protected you will be and you can dominate that state. You need a level 1 embassy to join an alliance and a level 2 to make your own alliance which will cost 10,000 gold pieces. You can chat with your members in alliance chat.

Historical cities can give you a huge advantage in the game if you capture one. There are level 12's, level 14's, level, 16's, and only one level 18, Atlantis. Atlantis is the biggest of all the historical cites and the hardest to conquer. Anybody who captures it will have the biggest advantage in the game. If you holdone of these cities you can levy both resources and troops from cities surrounding it. This means that you can actually steal both troops and resources from your neighbors when you hold one of these cities, which is pretty cool. You need to scout them first to know what their troop count. You conquer a historic city the same way you conquer an NPC. You have to attack it wave after wave and get its loyalty down to 0.

If your city is captured by another player, you can uprise. Just click on your captors city and click uprise. Be sure you have enough troops to win! You can do that or issue a commision quest. You can pay cents to another player who will uprise for you.

Stratagems can be used to benefit your city, or destroy your opponents city. There are different stratagems and each serves a different purpose, So check out the stratagems in the game.

Medals are needed for promotions. There are Cross, Rose, Lion, Courage, Justice, Wisdom, Freedom, Honor, and National Medals. Check in your Quests to see what you need to be promoted. The higher your rank the more cities you can have. If you are a knight you can have two cities for example. You can have up to ten cities.

I hope this guide helps you in the game, and if you have any more questions feel free to ask. Good luck.
